WITHOUT A WILL.
ADMINISTERING ESTATES.
AMENDMENT TO LAW,
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday.
Changes in the law governing the distribution of real estate of persons who die intestate are provided for in the Administration Amendment Bill which was introduced into the House of Representatives yesterday by GovernorGeneral's message.
One of the clauses of the bill is intended to correct an anomaly recently brought under the notice of the Government by the Supreme Court. It is provided in the bill that in the case of persons dying after the bill is passed rrai estate not disposed of by the will will be distributed as if it were personal estate not disposed of by the will.
Other clauses are designed to extend to British Protectorates and Mandated Territories the present provisions of the Administration Act providing for resealing in New Zealand of probates and letters of administration granted in other parts of the British Dominions. This will enable reciprocal provisions to be made in British Protectorates and Mandated Territories for the resealiug in Jiose countries of probates and letters of administration granted in New Zealand.
