FATAL ACCIDENT.
MOTOR CAR CAPSIZES.
MAN'S SPINE FRACTURED.
ACCIDENT NEAR WAIMATJKU.
The death occurred at the Auckland Hospital early this afternoon of Mr. Charles Morley, aged 76, of 110, Richmond Road, Ponsonby, whose spine was fractured as the result of an accident to a motor car on the main highway between Kumeu and Waimauku at about half past ttiree yesterday afternoon. Four other people in the car were also injured and the car, which skidded and overturned, was badly damaged.
Two of tlio passengers were admitted to hospital. Mrs. Annie Alice Anderson, of the same address, suffered concussion, abrasians and shock, but her condition is quite satisfactory. A St. John ambulance brought them to hospital.
A third passenger, Mrs. Moxon, of 7, Farrar Street, Grey Lynn, injured her left shoulder, and a young womaj suffered a gash on the leg. The driver, Mr. Anderson, received cuts and abrasions. They were taken home by car.
The car was returning to Auckland from Muriwai, when it skidded in loose metal and ran into a bank on the roadside, ultimately capsizing into some scrub.
