MANY BACHELORS.
POSITION AT KERIKBRL
(Liy Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day.
There are 07 bachelors in the Kerikeri settlement, the population of which is 400. This fact was commented on by Captain F. W. Voelckcr in welcoming visitors from Whangarei yesterday.
"Whangarei can help us," he said, "by sending some young women up to carry off some of our bachelors."
"We are going to do our level best to reduce that number," said Mr. W. Jones, Mayor of Whangarei, in replying to Captain Voelcker a welcome.
