BOXING TO-NIGHT.
BIG CHAMPI.ONSHIP MEETING
To-night at the Town Hall the 1935 Auckland provincial amateur boxing championships will be commenced with the elimination bouts, further elimination bouts and homo semi-finals being fought to-morrow evening, and the remaining semi-finale and finals being decided on Wednesday evening. More than 80 entries have been received for this year s championships, necessitating more than 70 contests, and so big will be the programme on each evening that it will be necessary for the competition to start at 7 o'clock. Between 25 and 30 fighta will bo decided to-night, and in this long programme Auckland fight fans Will find plenty of entertainment, which promises to be equally as thrilling as the remaining bouts on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and those who enjoy kren competition and fine sport will be well advised to attend the three sessions.
RICHARDS BEATS McMASTERS
BRISBANE, September 15. Boxing for the feather-weight title, Max Richards. Queensland champion, stopped the challenger, Jack McMasters, in the sixth round.
