APPROVAL OF ESTIMATES

The Tauranga County Council has been advised that detailed estimates for the year 1935-36 in respect of both construction and revenue fund works have been tentatively approved by the Main Highways Board as follows:—
Revenue. —Waihi-Tauranga main highway, Ohinemuri County boundary-Athen-ree,- £400; Athenree-Tauranga, £1500; Athenree-Aongatete (sealing), £675; Wairoa-Tauranga (sealing), £605; Tau-ranga-Whaka-tane main highway, Tau-ranga-Otamarafcau, £2250; Tauranga-Te Puke (sealing), £630; Tβ Puke-Kaiko-kopu (sealing), £3000; Kaikokopu Bridge, £104; Otamarakau Bridge, £180; Mata-maita-Tauranga main highway, Matamata County boundary-Barkes Corner, £720; Barkes Coraer-Tauranga, £30; Tβ Ngae-Paengaroa main highway, Tauranga County, £300; Rotorua-Tauranga (direct), Tauranga County, £22.3; Maketu highway, £75; Tβ Puna PointOmokoroa highway, £75; PapamoaMount Maunganui highway, £270.
Construction.—Waihi-Tauranga main highway, Te Mania Bridge, £296; Aongatete Bridge, £700; Tauranga-Whakatane main highway, twin bridges, £467; Atuaroa Bridge, £800; Ka fauna Bridge, £3200; Matamata-TaTiranga-Omanawa Bridge, £2400; Papamoa-Mount Maunganui main highway, Tβ Maunga-Mount Maunganui, on account, £1000.
