BUTTER PRICES.
INCREASES "ARRANGED." LABOUR CANDIDATE'S THEORY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Monday. A novel theory to account for the recent advance in butter prices was propounded by Mr. Gordon Hultquist, Labour candidate for Bay of Plenty seat, in the course of an address to the electors in Whakatane. "Prices for butter and cheese are up now," he said, "but after the election they will slump. Messrs. Forbee and Coates did not go to England for nothing. The increases were arranged for them and if you farmers "are gulled after my warning, well, you deserve all you get." »
