INTERNAL LOAN.
FOR UNEMPLOYED. BUDGET PROPOSAL? WORK AT STANDARD RATES. ANTICIPATION IN PARLIAMENT (By Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Budget continues to be the main topic of discussion in the Parliamentary lobbies, and the consensus of opinion is that the Government will propose an internal loan of £3:000,000, at a low rate of interest, for public works, as a step towards absorbing a large number of unemployed men at standard rates of wages. There has been clear evidence in recent months that large sums of money are awaiting investment in Government securities, and members of Parliament are of opinion that an internal loan at this juncture would provide a fillip and help New Zealand along the road to prosperity.
