FALL FROM BRIDGE.
GIRL'S BODY RECOVERED
TWO MEN IN'DIFFICULTIES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, this day. The young woman who was seen to fall from the high-level bridge over the Waikato River yesterday was identified later as Hilda Mersey Moorhouse, single, aged 23, third daughter of Captain and Mrs. B. W. Moorhouse, of Hamilton, who are old residents of Cambridge. The body floated down the river until it was caught up in a snag at a point opposite the .abattoir. Two relief workers set out in a canoe, but it was upset in the rapid waters and the men had a narrow escape from drowning. Subsequently one man, Mr. Tom Collins, swam out and after several attempts succeeded in fastening a rope round the body, after which it was pulled to the bank by Constables Maisey and Bowie and others and taken to the mortuary. An inquest will be held tomorrow.
