HARBOUR BRIDGE.
REPORT BY GOVERNMENT?
MR. HARRIS' REQUEST
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON', this day. It is the intention of Mr. A. Harris (Government, Waitcmata) to bring before the House the beneficial effect the construction of a harbour bridge would have on the development of tbe city and province of Auckland, as well as the immense advantage it would represent from the standpoint of labour absorption. He will request the Government to set up a Select Committee to report upon the advisability of carrying out the proposed work as a measure for unemployment relief, whether it is desirable that the work should be undertaken wholly out of the unemployment and main highways funds and upon other matters necessary for the early prosecution of the undertaking.
