CAPTAIN J. L. DOUIE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. The death occurred in the Rotorua Public-Hospital on Sunday of Captain John Livingstone Douie, aged 62. Hβ j was born in Ireland and served in the: South African War, during which he ■ received his commission.; Later he; came to reside in the Dominion and when the Great War broke out in 1914 he resumed his military position and trained troops at Trentham. During his boyhood in Ireland Captain Douie was a school-fellow of the present Premier of Northern Ireland, Viscount Craigavon, and when Viscount Craigavon visited I New Zealand; some few years ago he met Captain Douie in Rotorua. Captain Douie, after his retirement, settled in Rotorua', where he had resided ior nearly ?Q years.
