METHODIST GUILD.
THANKSGIVING SERVICE.
A very pleasant afternoon and evening was spent at the Great North Road Methodist Church recently, when the ladies' guild held thanksgiving services in connection with renovations recently completed in the church. Owing to Illness the minister, Rev. Hope-Haynee, was unable to attend. The afternoon service in the church was conducted by the Rev. Frost, the speaker being Kev. Olphert. After the service the meeting was adjourned fo the schoolroom where musical and elecutionary items were rendered, and afternoon tea was served. The soloist for the afternoon was Mies Carr (St. Peter's), who was warmly applauded, and elocutionary items by the Misses Olphert and Mortensen were highly appreciated. The evening service was conducted by the Rev. Handy . (St. John's), and tho speaker was. the Rev. Evcrill Orr (Airedale Street). At the close of this service another social hour was spent in the schoolroom, with musical items as follows: Mesdames Moses and Collieoat duet (vocal), Rev. Orr solos, and Mrs. Moses solos. The programme came to a close with supper. The Rev. Handy pronouncing the bonediction. Visiting guilds . included St. Peter's (Presbyterian), Airedale Street, Pitt Street, Franklin Road, Richmond Avenue, Kingsland and Parncll.
