WESLEY'YOUNG MEN.
Members of the Methodist Bible classes and St. John Ambulance and Nursing Cadet Divisions in were well represented at the W.Y.M.I. annual plain and fancy dress social held in the Wesley Hnll, Pitt Street, last Saturday evening in aid of the funds of the National Reserve Cadet Ambulance Division. Mr. W. H. Elliott carried out the duties of master of ceremonies The judges, Mesdames Thrift, Rosser and Mosser, were engaged in a difficult task, of selecting the winners from the various entries during the grand parade. Miss Verona Rogers (Mid-Victorian), of Pitt Street, was chosen as the daintiest; Mr. I\ Paris (robot), of D.R.Y.M.1., received the prize for the moet original; Mr. H Wallace (cook-policeman), of the Methodist Mission, was awarded the decision for the funniest; while in the contest for the best group Mr. A. S. Thrift (doctor), Miss J Dixon (nurse) and Misses Rona and Tottic Martin, Bessie and Nora Thrift (quadruplets) tied with Messrs. G. C. Riddell, E. Speck, N. Dixon, J. Scott, A. Collings, T. H. Ellison, P. Stewart, D. Payne and J. Crooks, who were dressed to represent the. Pitt Street girls' basketball team. During the evening Miss Jean Fletcher was given a box of chocolates for the capable and efficient manner in which shot arranged the supper. On behalf of the St. John Ambulance cadet movement, lady corps McDowell thanked the W.Y.M.T. for a most enjoyable evening, and for holding the function to benefit the ambulance cadets.
