AUCKLAND CONTROL BOARD.

ROOPE ROOSTER SEMI-FINAL. REPRESENTATIVE TOUR. At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Control Board last evening, Air. G. Grey Campbell presiding, the drawn fixtures for the Roope Rooster eemi-linais were confirmed, , with City Rovers and Newton Rangers as curtain-raisers to the Richmond-Mt. Albert fixture. The Plielan Shield matches will take place on No. 2 ground. The case of the Mount Albert player, Shadbolt, ordered off for striking a Marist opponent on Saturday, was taken in committee, and the offender was suspended for the remainder of season. The chairman said the board was determined to take stern measures to prevent euch illegal play. Mr. Rukutai reported having visited Wellington, where there was every evidence of the healthy establishment of the code. Discussing the Auckland team's tour south, Mr. Doble strongly urged that Mr. Campbell should be manager, and Mr. Mincham mentioned that this would be the first occasion on which an Auckland Rugby League chairman, had toured to the South Island in charge of a representative side. It would be a further token of good will. Mr. Campbell said he was honoured to have the confidence of colleagues, and expected to be able to accept. On the suggestion of Mr. Campbell, Mr. H.' Avery, an Auckland selector, was appointed team manager and coach. The mover said that he felt sure Southern supporters and players would be glad to make the acquaintance of Mr. Avery, captain of the 1925-26 team to England. Sixteen players are to be chosen after next Saturday's matches. Mr. Hendry Luke, in enclosing a cheque for £2 2/, eaid he had followed Rugby for many years, but had never enjoyed himself better than at Carlaw Park. Registrations.—Reginald Dick, City, and R.
