MAUNGAKIEKIE GOLF CLUB.

FIRST ANNUAL BALL. The floor at the Peter Pan Cabaret was thronged with dancers last evening, when the members of the Maungakiekie Golf Club held their first annual ball. Tho function was a decided success., The decorations were in keeping with the nature of tho dance, and the club colours, blue and eilver, were much in evidence. The gueste were greeted as they entered the cabaret, with a placard bearing tho words "Out of Bounds," while shields in the club colours were hung on the walls. The same colours were repeated in streamers which were suspended over the dance floor and entwined round the central pillars. Beautiful bowla of arum lilies set among palme were in each corner of the room, while colour was supplied by anemonee which were on the tables in the cubicles. With early spring flowers and ribbon bows of blue and silver, the supper room also presented an attractive appearance. On arrival the guests were received by the president, Mr. J. M. Elliffe, and Mrs. EllifTe, who wore a frock of French blue souple satin with tiny lloral design and a spray of paleet pink flowers. The members of the ladies' committee were: Mrs. G. R. Meredith, who wore a frock of black cire satin; Miss Betty Abbott, ciel blue taffeta with collar of pink; Miss T. Lamb, citron shaded grosgrin; Miss A. Grove, black souple satin with cape of silver; Miss A. Morley, Naples blue velvet and eilver; Mias E. Schnauer, black angelskin lace. Also present were: Mrs. R. G.
