Mrs. Joseph C'urran. of Dominion Road, gave a delightful farewell tea party in George Court'.s reception room to Mrs. J. Breen, who is leaving to reside in Hamilton. Among those present were: Mr?. J. Presentations from tho congregation of the- Northcote Presbyterian Church were made at a farewell .■•o.-;al gathering last night to Mrs. E. Br union and her daughter, Mrs. J. Foley, noil from both the congregation and Sunday School to Master Jack Foley. The Rev. S. L. Boot said that Mrs. Brunton had lived at Northcote wi'Jh her family for 23 years, and voiced tie regret felt at the departure of herself and Mrs. Foley, .and the appreciation of their work in the community.

The outstanding success of the card party arranged by the executive committee of the Otahuhu Free Kindergarten and held in the Kingsford Hall, Otahuhu, on Tuesday afternoon, was due to the energetic work of the committee. Mrs. R. B. Todd was the winner of the highest score and Mrs. W. Payne of the hidden number. The committee members present were Mrs. A. V. Snadden (chair■woman), the Mayoress, Mrs. C. R. Pctrie, Mesdames A. Pirie, R. B. Todd, W. H. Hotson, Bishop, H. L. Possenniskie and Miss M. Muir. There were also present Meedames A. E. Patton, R. Craft, Moore, W. Speed, F. Ellcry, J. Petersen, W. Cowper, A. K. Belcher, W. K. Chapman, W. Rogers, Marshall. W. Payne, B. C. Stinton, H. J. Moffitt Whale, Verrall, Rupg, B. Trezise, Graeie, M. J. Barrett, Todd, Fearnley, A. T. McLaren, W.
