JUNIOR MANAGEMENT,

At the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. D. Wilkie presiding, the Richmond Club was congratulated upon its success in the second and fifth grade championships. In the second grade Richmond won with 22 points, with Ponsonby 16, R.V. 14 and Glenora 10. Richmond A won the fifth grade with 27 points, with Ellerslie 21, Newton 17, Devonport 16 and Akarana 15, three other teams following on the ladder.

| On behalf of the Ponsonby third grade , team, Mr. R. Furlonger reported that the Eastern Suburbs Club at New Plymouth very hospitably entertained the visiting third grade side on Saturday at New Plymouth after the match, which ended —5 in favour of the visitors. The i team and officials greatly enjoyed the ] trip to Taranaki. I J. Lewis, of Ponsonby second grade, whose attitude toward authority was officially resented, was suspended for the rest of the season for abusing a referee, who appeared and gave emphatic evidence. The board stipulated that the player, who requested that his name be not published, appear again before he played again nest season. ! In connection with a protest entered by Green Lane senior B in the match with j Point Chevalier, the board, as the result |of a report from the Referees' AssociaI tion, decided that the match be replayed if it had any bearing on the chainpionI shipIn a motion of condolence with relatives of the late Mr. T. Buchanan, : secretary of the A.R.U. Junior Management Board, the view was expressed that the death of this courteous and obliging official was a big loss to Auckland sport. In special reports reference was made to the good play of the Waiuku sixth grade team against Richmond at Carlaw Park on Saturday, and to the fact that Papakura Club intended to enter a team for the Stallard Cup, second grade comI petition. I It was decided that the seventh round j knock-out be of one round.
