NEW BRITISH PARTY?
Formation of Left Central Group Probable. SIGNIFICANT MOVE. LONDON", August 11. The "Sunday Observer" political correspondent predicts the formation of a new Left Central group within a fortnight as a sequel to Mr. Lloyd George attending a private luncheon to-morrow with Lord Allen, Sir Walter Layton and other signatories of his recently issued book, "The Next Five Years." Sir Herbert Samuel, who lias repeatedly advocated greater unity among the progressive parties, will be present, thus showing that the coolness between him and Mr. George is ending. The luncheon party will discuss a deal with the Labour party proposing that Liberal candidates shall not fight the general election where they would J damage Labour, which would be asked to make a reciprocal arrangement. Although Lord Allen's group probably will not join Mr. George, individuals may co-operate with him. It is significant that Mr. George is to address trades union leaders next Wednesday. J
