MODEL AEROPLANES.
ahe Kestrel Model Aero Club opened its season's (lying with a meeting at the Hobsonville Air Bise over the week-end 40 members 'attending. The weather was ideal for flying and a crowd gathered to witness the flights. A. Weaver broke the New Zealand and Australian scale model record with a French Dewoitine D 33. This time was 1.59. The Hobsonville Modil Aero Clnb turned out with a fine selection of models. T. Clark, flying a 5-foot Kestrel Contest cabin 'plane weighing 12oz. proved quite an outstanding flyer. Competitions resulted :— Open Duration.—M. Wrennals. 2535, 1 ; It. Stables, 2155. 2; A. Weaver, 200s 3 Gliders.—R. Stables, 555. 1; W. Hopkins, 4Ss. 2; ,T. Small, 465. 3. Scale Models.—-A.
