FOR ABYSSINIA
AUCKLAND VOLUNTEERS. The threatened war between Ethiopia and Italy has found its echo in Auckland. As the result of the casual meeting of a few ex-service men, soldiers, sailors and airmen, at Takapnna, at which those present expressed their sympathy with Ethiopia in its dispute with Italy, a decision to offer their services in the Abyssinian forces was reached. It is est'mated that at least 50 men will offer their services tn the Emperor of Kthiopia in the case of an outbreak of war. but the difficulties and expense of transportation are such that the oiler is likely to be a gesture only.
