WAIHI MINE DISPUTE.
NO AGREEMENT REACHED
The dispute between the Martha Gold Mining Company (Limited) and the Ohinemuri branch of the Engineering Union of Workers and the Waihi branch, Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners Industrial Union of Workers was not settled at the meeting held yesterday. Mr. W. Wallace presided.
The demands of the carpenters and engineers were modified, both agreeing to°a restoration of the 1931 wage level, plus a bonus of 6d a shift so long as gold was over £6 10/ (sterling) an ounce, .his proved unacceptable to the representatives of the company.
