HEAVY OIL DUTY.
FUEL FOR ROAD VEHICLES. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, August 7. A duty of 8d per gallon on heavy hydrocarbon oil used as fuel road vehicles comes into force to-morrow. The tax was imposed in the last Finance Act to safeguard revenue from petrol duty in view of the increasing number of vehicles fitted with heavy oil engines.
