AUCKLAND CONTROL OF GAME

JUBILEE CUP AUGUST 17.

MOKE REP. GAMES ARRANGED

Mr. A. St. C. Belcher presided at last night's meeting of the Auckland Rugby Football Union, at which arrangements to hold matches in the knock-out competition for the Jubilee Cup on August 17 and 31 and September 14 and 21 were made. Ihc draw was referred to the match committee, the closing date for entries being nest Monday. The dates for the B representative matches against Whangarei and Thames were confirmed as September 7 and 21 respectively, as recommended by the match committee. Messrs. Arthur Tilly and A. B. Floyd were appointed manager and assistantmanager respectively of the Auckland representative team to play Canterbury on Saturday. Mr. R. F. Galbraith was appointed manager of the B representative team to travel to Wailii on Saturday. Charges at Eden Park for next Saturday and for all representative matches this season were iixed at 1/ admission and 2/ on the grandstand. Mr. R. Laurie's report on the visit of the senior B representative team to Helensville was received, and a return match was recommended to the match committee. Permission was granted the Auckland Grammar School fifteen, with Mr. A. Nicholson as manager, to travel to "New Plymouth to take part in the secondary schools' tournament. Also to the University Club to send a team to Cambridge next Saturday. The Pioneer Athletic Club, Christchurch, asked for a donation toward the cost of a presentation to J. E. Lovelock, and £2 2/ was granted. The transfer of R. Brown from the Eden to the Technical Old Boys' Club was approved, subject to the production of a clearance. The Referees' Association was granted permission to play a match at Kaipara on September 7. The usual grant of £5 toward expenses was made. Members stood in silence in memory of the late Mr. Harry Thomas, whose death occurred yesterday. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Referees' Association. SATURDAY'S ENGAGEMENTS.
