IMPORTANCE OF TREES.
aVj Telegraph. — Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. This afternoon their Excellencies Viscount and Viscountess Galway took part in an Arbor Day ceremony of planting pohutukawa trees on the approach to tlie War Memorial Carillon, in the presence of a big gathering of school children and adults. The function was arranged by the, Wellington Horticultural Society, by permission of the board of trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum. Lord Gnlway, in an address, stressed the importance of trees to the community and expressed pleasure at being able to take part in the ceremony.
