AT ELLERSLIE, TOO.
The ussi.stant postmaster at Auckland, Mr. H. MeGill, said to-day that the provision of telegraph offices at racecourses was in accordance with a recent decision in Wellington. The question as to whether oilices would be established in the Auckland district was under consideration, but certainly on-e would be provided at Ellerelie. It was not known yet how far the Department would be going in the matter, but consideration tvoufd be given to the cases of other important race meetings. The arrangement had nothing to do with telegraphic betting; the offices would be for the receipt and dispatch of ordinary and Press telegrams.
