AUCKLAND DISTRICT
The School of Methods was held under the leadership of Mrs. Kasper on Monday, the subject of study being, "Peace and its Attainment," every member present taking part. A meeting of the district executive .followed, 25 members attending. The Temperance Fact stated that total abstainers lived longer than moderate drinkers. It was also stated that SOO temperance pledges were taken from boys and girls at the recent Winter show. BIRKENHEAD. The usual monthly meeting of the Birkenhead branch of the W.C.T.U. was held at Zion Hill Sunday school hall. The president, Mrs. Gatman, led devotions and also referred to the question of motorists taking alcohol, stating that even a small quantity impaired their efficiency.
