On No. 3 ground at Eden Park Technical Old Boys were opposed by a sadly depleted College Kifles team and they /ompedhome by the substantial margin or 41 points to 3. When these two loams last met the Collegians had a strong- team and won a close decision, but in the meantime they have lost about half a dozen players through injuries and other causes. The vacancies have had to be filled by rounder and lighter players, .jvho were no match for the solid, bustling green forwards In the first quarter of an hour the Rifles seemed likely to make a game of it and their backs did some pretty work. However, the weight and vim of the -Technical pack soon told its tale. From the scrums they almost invariably got the fcall away and in the loose they crashed through in fierce rushes that Rave the opposition no respite. With full opportunities Technical set up a cricket score, yet their tries were due more to individual excellence than to successful combination. Oldbury went up to the three-quarter line in place of Stevenson, and Murdoch, who cam© on in his place at five-eighth, had a veritable field day. He scored three tries, made the openings for two others and kicked two goals. One of them was from a wide angle, the mark beiny close to the boundary line. Tries for Technical were also secured by Oldbury (two), Aro, I/ash, Poland, Rayment and naslam. Lash and Aro each converted a try. Until the last few minutes it appeared that Kifles would not break 'their duck, but just before time was called they secured a try that was well deserved. Prom loose play close to the greene' line Barker dribbled over on his own and dived on the ball to touch down. Vear failed to convert.
