PAKURANGA HUNT.

MEET AT EAST TAMAKI

The Pakuranga Hunt met at East Tamaki on Saturday, and about sixty followers attended. The going was holding, but scent lay well, and some excellent runs were provided, resulting in three kills.

Hounds threw off on Mr. W. Aubrey's farm, and worked along the creek at the back of the property, where they picked up a hare which gave the followers a fast run across the farm in the direction of the Howick Road. The hare then doubled back across Mr. Roy Harris' farm, and was killed on the edge of the creek. Another strong hare was put up on Mr. Cousins' property, which led across the farms of Messrs. A. Trust, T. Woods and B. Speechley. After the hare had circled these farms twice a kill was made at the back of Mr. Speeehley's property. The hunt then moved on to Mr. Robert Hattaway's farm, where a strong hare was put up, which took them on to Mr. Roy Hattaway'e property. After doubling back the hare again crossed Mr. Robert Hattaway's farm on to the Howick Road and back across the properties of Messrs. Aubrey and B. Guy. A kill was made on the Botany Road. Before the order for home was given another hare was put up, which took the hunt over practically the same farms.
