Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P. for Marsden, left last night for Wellington. The Hon. F. Waite, M.L.C., of Otago, is leaving by the Limited to-night for the South. Mr. and 3lrs. G. T. Xiccol, of Auckland, returned from England yesterday by the Rangitane. Canon F. G. Harvie, vicar of St. Barnabas', Mount Eden, is making good progress after hie recent severe operation. ; Captain M. W. Stuart, late of the 2nd Life Guards, arrived in Auckland by the Itangitano yesterday. He is on the way to Australia. Lieutenant-Colonel R. Bagnall and Mrs. Bagnall arrived from England by the Rangitane yesterday on a lengthy visit to Xew Zealand. Captain R. A. Anderson, of the Scottish Rifles, and formerly of Christchurch, arrived by the Rangitane yesterday on a holiday visit. Mr. C. M. Turrell, general manager of the Xew Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd., arrives in Auckland to-morrow morning on a short business visit. Mr. G. J. Burtenshaw, chief engineer for the Railway Department, and Mr. H. W. Beasley, district railway engineer, left for the South yesterday afternoon. Mr. T. E. H. Evans, of Manurewa, left last night for Wellington, where he will attend a meeting of the Poultry Board. He expects to return on Saturday. Mr. Donald Carr, M.A., son of the Rev. A. J. Carr and Mrs. Carr, of Manurewa, has received the Oertificat de Phonetique from the University of Grenoble in France, where he has been studying. Mr. T. O. Bishop, secretary of the Xew Zealand Employers' Federation, who represented the Dominion at the International Labour Conference at G«neva, is expected to return to Wellington on September 7. Mr. J. M. McLinden, M.R.C.V.S., X.D.A, lecturer in veterinary science and one of the foundation members of the staff of Massey College, has resigned hie position in order to return to Scotland. He and Mrs. MeLinden were farewelled recently by the staff. Major J. Buckley, managing director of C. and E. Morton, Limited, London, arrived yesterday by the Rangitane on a business, visit to the Dominion. He will epend ten days in Auckland and then leave for Wellington, and expects to remain in Xew Zealand about a month. He is at the Grand Hotel. Tho Rev. G. T. Warren and Mrs. Warren arrived by the Rangitane yesterday to spend a fortnight in New Zealand before returning to the Solomon Islands. Mr. Warren has been doing work for the Melanesian Mission in the Solomons for tho past 22 years, and is returning after a year's furlough in England.
