ELLERSLIE TRIALS.
IMAMINT PLEASES. SEVERAL HORSES JUMP. After frost overnight the weather was fine though cold for training at Ellerslie thie morning, but the going was on the heavy side. No. 3 grass track, with the poles 10ft out, was available for Jast work, and a number of horses were exercised on the sand and in the middle of the course. _ .
Sir Romeo got to the end of six furlongs in 1.23, Gay Defence assisting him over the last five, which occupied 1.8 4-5. Ruling King and Chief Emerald completed a round in 2.2, the last half-mile being covered in 59 4-ss. Supreme Ruler worked alone over six furlongs, which he covered "in 1.28. Professional and Palardo reeled off three furlongs in 3!)*. Thie was the best of the morning over the distance, and Palardo pleased most. Fleetwind was going comfortably beside Courthaven at the conclusion of half a mile run in 55 3-ss. Over a similar distance Kelly registered 53 l-se. He could have improved on the time. Air Lassie strode over three furlongs in 445, and Wee Pat and Kilmuir were timed to run half a mile in 53 3-ss, there being little between them. Catoma had Vahnint as a companion over six furlongs, the pair finishing together in 1.25 1-5. Kiltowyn was to have gone a similar distance, but was In front of the post when lie jumped olf, running his last live furlongs in 1.8 2-5. He did it very easily. Teddy Boy, after running hie first three furlongs in 41 2-ss, completed six furlongs in 1.23. Vannere, a full sister to Sabatini, was allotted useful work, averaging about 15s to the furlong. Imnmrnt finished well clear of Vera Acre and Aymon at the end of half a mile in 52 3-ss, the last-named pair taking 54 l-ss. Armacourt was given strong work over a round, completing the distance in 1.50. Baroscope, Jewelled Girdle and Charsong finished as named after completing six furlongs in 1.22 4-5. Primak and Heskertoon ran home from the halfmile post in 54 3-ss. There was little between them at the finish. Over a similar distance Mountain Sun recorded 56 1-os, but he could have improved on the time. The Jumpers. Parkhurst (D. Craddock) and Gascelle (G. Baker) were schooled over the big fences on the fiat, giving a satisfactory exhibition. Hawthorn (I. Tucker) jumped a couple of pony hurdles, and afterwards was sent over a couple of the big ones.
