ANNUAL BALL.

PUPUKE GOLF CLUB. Successful in every way was the eighth annual hall given by the president, officers and members of the I'iipiike Golf Club, and held in the Pirate Shipper, Milford, last evening. The cold snap in the air made dancing most pleasant, and excellent music was supplied. ■ Rod and yellow streamers made the lower deck, where dancing was held, gay, while basket* of fern and coloured balloons decorated the upper deck. Bowls of Iceland poppies and balloons in variegated colours were in the supper room. The guests were received by the president, Dr. P. 0. Andrew, and Mrs. Andrew, the latter wearing a frock of deep cream lace over briar rose pink taffeta. Members of the ladies' comhiitteo assisting were Mrs. J. W. Williamson, who wore a frock of black draped geoigctte; Mrs. F. Prosser,' Naples blue georgette; Mrs. B. Kissen, ciel blue suede with silver thread; Mrs. H. Gray, blue ring velvet: Mrs. 11. Bowden, cherry red velvet; Miss M. D. Parker (lion, secretary), lemon georgette with red floral design; Miss Berta O'Neill, black floral georgette; Miss Gladys Williams, black lace and georgette; Miss M. Cameron, ivory mose crepe with sequin embroideries.
