£400 STOLEN.
IN NOTES AND SILVER. HOSPITAL STAFF SALARIES. CLERK'S TURN OF FAINTNESS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. The theft of £400 in money was committed by an unknown person in Hastings this afternoon. A man named Dolbel, who is employed as a. clerk by the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board, came to Hastings from Napier carrying £400 in notes and silver with which to pay the staff of the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Hastings. He went into a public convenience in Railway Road, and was suddenly overcome by faintness. When ho recovered, the money was missing.
Mr. Dolbel at once reported the theft to the Hastings police. No arrest lias yet been made.
