LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
JUNIOR MANAGEMENT. At the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. 1). Wilkie presiding, the application of Ponsonby third grade team to travel to New Plymouth to play a curtain-raiser to the TaranakiSouth Auckland fixture 011 August 17 was granted. Point Chevalier fourths were given permission to go to Ngaruawahia &11 the siune date. The Pukemiro (Lower Waikato) Club's request for third and fifth teams to travel on the same Saturday in September to Pukemiro was recommended to clubs, and a suggestion regarding a senior visit on another Saturday was referred to the control board. The senior B knock-out between Papakuru and Otahuhu next Saturday is to be played to finality. All extra round in the grade for a special trophy donated by Mr. H. Walmsley is practically assured. The seventh grade competition is also to be continued for a trophy. Jll reply to a Papakura inquiry, Mr. Wilkie said the Auckland League had not lost sight of the need for considering further senior fixtures 011 suburban grounds. Nominations for the fifth grade knockout were received and those for the second grade were deferred for a week. It was announced that the Tuakau team visit to Auckland to play R.V. had been deferred from Saturday last to Saturday week. The chairman was deputed to consult with the authorities as to curtain-raisers to the Australian matches. The Akarana Club notified, that it was claiming £1 transfer fee in respect of Donovan, acquired by City Rovers for its reserve team. Transfer: W. Chenmside. City fifths to Akarana. Regrade: A. Howley, Devonport sixths to fifths. G. Newton (transferred from Devonport) to Glenora, subject to A.R.L. approval.
