Members expressed astonishment at the attitude of Waihi, in view of the recent agreement in regard to the Peace Cup elimination match, and the secretary was instructed to reply expressing the union's disappointment at the decision. The chairman reported having discussed arrangements with the Te Aroha officials for further matches. The suggestions made were that Thames juniors visit Te Aroha on July 27 to play off the Sharebrokers' Cup tie, and that Te Aroha seniors play Thames at Thames for the Birch Cup on August 3. The chairman's report was adopted, and the matches were approved. Attention was drawn to the shortage of active referees, it being stated that great difficulty would be experienced in rinding referees to carry cm the fixtures. It was decided to issue an appeal to old players to join the Referees' Association and to ask the clubs for the names of any senior players willing to officiate in junior matches.
