UNION AIRWAYS.
TEN TO 14 PASSENGERS.
SERVICE IN DECEMBER.

WELLINGTON, this day. The announcement was made to-day on behalf of Union Airways, Ltd., of the purchase of three four-engined de Havilland express air liners for mail and passenger service between Palmerston North, Blenheim, Christchurch and Dunedin, which service is expected to commence in December. The DHfiO 'plane has accommodation for from 10 to 14 passengers and a crew of two pilots, and baggage and mail space of 590 cubic feet. It is powered with four 200 h.p. Gipsy six engines and is able to maintain height on any two engines. It has ample range for any New Zealand requirements, and is provided with complete navigational equipment. The delivery of the first two machines is due on September 3, and of the third in October.
