AMATEUR CENTRE'S RACES. JUNIOR. TITLE TO GUXBANKS. MANUKAU WINS TEAMS RACE. Cold, dull conditions prevailed on Saturday when the Auckland Amateur Cycling Centre decided the junior unpaced championship and the clubs* teams race. The absence of any strong winds assisted the riders in returning exceptionally fast times. The winners of both events substantially lowered the existing records. The junior unpaced event was run over a 13 1-5 miles course from Point Chevalier to Tc Atatu and back over concrete surfaces. In all 32 of the 34 entrants started. The riders started at one-minute intervals, and each had to ride the entire distance unassisted. A sealed handicap was run in conjunction with the event.
