RADIO PROGRAMMES.
ALTERNATIVE SERVICES?
REQUEST BY LISTENERS.
(gji "We feel that Auckland is large enough to have two programmes going throughout the day," said Mr. A. Thompson, president of the United Listeners' Club, when speaking for a deputation which waited on the Postmaster-General, Mr. A. Hamilton, this morning.
If the A stations were unable to supply an alternative service to the present service, said Mr. Thompson, it was felt that the B stations should have an opportunity of doing so. There were sessions in the present IYA programme that were not popular with all sections of listeners. He asked whether there were any prospects of the B stations being given extra time 011 the air to provide alternative programmes to the A stations or whether it could be arranged for the A stations to give alternative services themselves. As far as the listeners were concerned it did not matter which course was adopted.
