TRAGIC DEATH.
Vice-Admiral Killed in Motor
Smash. DISTINGUISHED CAREER. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 1 p.m.) RUGBY, July in. Viee-Admiral K. Astlcy-Rusliton, commander of H.M.S. Melbourne from 191 C to 1919, crashed into a tree while motoring alone and was killed instantly. Since April, 1934, he has been in command of the Reserve Fleet, which was specially mobilised for the jubilee review, and on 1 ucsdav he was one of the King's guests at dinner on the Royal yacht! He commanded the cruiser Southampton, which was the fiist naval ship to sink a German submarine by gunfire.
In 1931 Uc became the commander of the second cruiscr squadron and paid the first post-war naval visit to German waters.
