DELAYED HONEYMOON.
"GINGER" AND LEW ARE SAD.
Ever since the glorious fourteenth of November, 1934 —the day they were made one —"Ginger" Rogers and Lew Ayres have been trying to enjoy a modest honeymoon. They have not succeeded yet. And now the studios have knocked their latest plan on the head.
"Ginger" had just finished playing her new dramatic role opposite William Powell in "Star of Midnight," a suave yet stirring mystery drama to be released soon. Lew had completed a film at hie home "lot." Loading their car with luggage, they started out for the mountains. The second day out a blizzard drove them out of" the high hills towards the lowland heat of Death Valley. The third day, just as they had established themselves at Furnace Creek, on the valley's rim, a wire from Lew's studio demanded his presence for retakes. Sadly they repacked and set out for Hollywood, very discouraged, but still hopeful that they can have a wedding trip some time.
