taupiri. The Taupiri Todies' Croquet Club held a successful and enjoyable five hundred and bridge afternoon in the Taupiri Hall. The winners were: Bridge, Miss E. McCracken; live hundred, Mrs. E. Burman. Among those present were: Mesdames R. E. Hunter, F. A. Wilson, F. R. Catley, 10. A. Sow man, J. D. Bruce, J. Murphy, W. Waring, A. W. Buss, A. H. Shepherd, J. D. Joy (Ngaruawahia), G. Horwood, E. Treinain, E. Quick, Marriott (Xgaruawahia), E. Burman, C. Purcell, J- E- Farrell, G. H. Walter, S. .T. Stanley, F. Uiulerwood, H. McCambridge, T. B. McDoxvall, and Misses M. Ca'tley, E. McCracken and Ensor (Ngaruawahia).
HOWICK. A very enjoyable afternoon was spent in the Howick croquet pavilion recently when the president, Mrs. Wyatt, welcomed a number of members, honorary members and friends, who assembled in honour of Mrs. H. P. Johnson, who for a number of years has been honorary secretary and treasurer to the club. Bridge and five hundred were played and a competition arranged by Mrs. Bo yes was won by Mrs. J. Wilson. At the afternoon tea interval the president, Mrs. Wyatt, presented to the guest of honour a beautiful handbag from the members. Among those present were: Mesdames Wyatt, Amiss, Jones, Gaudy, Litten, Boves, Roberts, Sutherland, Jameson, Bates, Alexander, Foy, F. Crawford, Jansen, Beckett, Turner, Wilson, J. Crawford, MeCrae, and Misses Nixon, Gill, Jay, Ivy Mcllwraith, L. Crawford and M. Mcllwraith. MANGERE EAST. A most successful progressive bridge and fivo hundred evening was held at the home of Mrs. W. W. Massey, Buckland Road, to help augment the funds of the Mangere East Croquet Club. The prizes were won by Mrs. Burns, Mrs. Henwood, Mr. Wily and Mr. Webb, and amongst the ladies present were: Mesdames A. Henwood, E. n. Soloman, S. House, D. Penman, Ellison, E. Smith, Hickson, Saussey, Jackson, Nixon, A. Belcher, Gordon, Burns, Grinter, Webb, T. Phesant, Wily, A. Prangley, Annstrong, McMillan, Howie. Knight, Misses B. Tiinms, L. Phesant, M. Henderson, B. Soloman, M. Muir, Donnell, Wily and Murray. ONEHUNGA. The Onehunga Croquet Club held a bridge afternoon on Thursday in the club pavilion. The president being absent, Mrs. W. T. Court, vice-president, presided and presented prizes to the winners, Mrs. A. M. Christmas and Mr. I. Sutherland. Among those present were: Mesdames W. T. Court, J. B. Crawford, A. Kenny, Poole, J. Cowell, Patterson, E. Foster, W. Wallace, A. M. Chitman, Watson, A. Craig, A. Houldswortli, J. Parr, F. Hickman, A. Burgess. \j. Bray, T. C. Turnbtill, Bicheno, I. Sutherland, Misses Davy, Holt, Hickman and Tonge.
