KENTISH ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the Kentish Association was held this week at the Fabian Club rooms, which were decorated with bowls of wattle and other spring flowers. The guests were received by Mrs. W. J. Lane, assisted by Mrs. S. E. Langstone, and the president, Mr. W. G. Lane, welcomed those present, who included Mr. Thomas and Mr. Copeland, representing the Auckland branch of the Royal Empire Society.
A particularly interesting and instructive talk on the South Sea Islands was given by Mr. H. Binstead, F.R.G.S., lantern slides and exhibits of native handcraft being shown. Songs were contributed by Mrs. W. F. Ward, accompanied by Mrs. Mayall, and monologues by Pamela of IZM, "Maorilander" being at the piano. The programme was arranged by Mr. J. 11. Leonard, and a competition arranged by Mrs."Leonard was won by Miss A. McCarr. Dancing concluded an enjoyable evening, Mr. Aspinwall supplying the music.
