NICOL RETAINS TITLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARCILL, this day. A content for the professional light-heavy-weight boxing championship of Sew Zealand last night between Ray Nicol (12.2%), of Oliai. holder, and Lrn Jacobs (11.13), of Wellington, resulted, in a win for Nicol on points. Jacobs proved himself a clever boxer, but Nicol s greater strength and ringcraft were the deciding factors.
In a professional preliminary D. Sterling (10.0), oi Oamaru, beat L. Adams (10.0), of Invercargill, on points, the decision meeting with a mixed "reception.
