AUCKLAND CONTROL BOARD. ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY. FIRST WAITANGI SHIELD FIXTURE. At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Control Board last evening, Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, it was decided that tho main match on Saturday be contested by Richmond and Marists. The early game will bo between Mount Albert and Devonport, and Ponsonby and Newton will play the first senior football match ever staged at Glen Eden. j

The appointment cf Hγ. E. K. Asher as manager of the City Rovers' team, which will play at Whangarei, was approved.

The set draw of the series of senior and junior reserve grade fixtures for July 20 and 27 were reversed in order to fit in with pending special match arrangements. The New Zealand Maori Advisory Board was granted the use of Carlaw Park on Jaly 31 for the staging of the first chal : leuge of the season for the Waitangi Shield against Taranaki. t \ Messrs. W. Mineham and J. Rukutai were appointed a special sub-committee to collaborate with the junior management and junior clubs concerned in a clash of colours. The Otahuhu Rovers Club advised that it wished to nominate for the Roope Rooster knock-out. It was decided to hold the application for consideration with other nominations. A letter is to be sent to the New South Wales Rugby League expressing appreciation of the visit of Mr. H. R. Miller, whoso visit was considered productive of mutual benefit. . .

The Auckland Football Association wrote agreeing to co-operate with the board with regard to the bicycle nuisance on the Outer Domain. It was suggested that the groundsman should be requested to exercise his authority and refuse to allow machines to be parked near playing areas. A donation of five guineas was authorised to the Auckland Cricket Association's coaching fund. It was decided to advise the Mount Albert Club that owing to the Australian teain'e visit, no arrangements could be made to allow the Auckland Club to hold a match with Taradale team (Hawke's Bay) at Carlaw Park. It was reported that the Mount Albert Club hoped to play Taradale in Hawke's Bay later in the season.

The City Rovers Club reported having registered J. T. Hapi, ex-Hawke's Bay Rugby Union representative wing-threc-quartcr. The City Rovers reserve grade protest against Devonport was dismissed in view of tho referee's report, while a protest by the same club team agaiimt Ponsonby was deferred for further consideration, as the result of a 'further factor raised.

Payne (Ponsonbyj nnd McNeil (Richmond) were suspended for one playing Saturday for misconduct on the field on Saturday. It was resolved that junior players must not train at Carlaw Park after 7.45 p.m.
