MR. DOIDGE'S CANDIDATURE.
At the general meeting of the Grey Lynn Returned Soldiers' Social Club a resolution was passed disclaiming any responsibility for the statement made by Mr. F. W. Doidee recently concerning his intention to contest a seat at the next general election. Tt was staled that the club wished to deny any suggestion that its representatives had approached Mr. Doidge. In an address last week Mr. Doidg.: said that he had been approached by two political parties, but that an even greater compliment had been paid to him when a group of returned soldiers Jiad asked him to become a candidate for Grey Lynn.
