LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
AUSTRALIAN WOMAN DELEGATE. Women throughout Australia will rejoico to learn that Mrs. Rischbieth will oflicially represent Australia at the Assembly of the League of Nations when it sits this year. Mrs. Rischbieth was nominated for this important position by the Women's Non-Party League of South Australia, and the nomination received the unanimous endorsement of all constituent societies. When it became- known that Mrs. Rischbieth's name had been submitted other organisations and women individually indicated their very warm support of the federation's nominee. Mrs. Rischbieth has worked in the interests of the League of Nations ever since its inauguration, and is a vicopresident of the union in West Australia. Many were the difliculties to be faced and overcome before the Government would include a woman in the official Australian delegation. To this end Mrs. Rischbieth worked strenuously, and in 1922 her , efforts were crowned with success in the appointment of Mrs. Marguerite Dale as an official alternate delegate. Since that time some outstanding Australian woman is chosen each year to go to Geneva, and of thesemany have been the nominees of the Australian Federation of Women Voters. The question of equal nationality appears on the agenda for this year's assembly, and Governments will be called upon to vote on the resolution. Mrs. Rischbieth has put years of diligent study and work into this subject and left no stone unturned in an endeavour to make this important question and its vital issues more clearly and widely known. For many many years Mrs. Rischbieth has gone up and down Auetralia in the service of her country and in every State both men and women have rallied to help her in her great task of furthering the cause of women, which is the cause of humanity.
