GREY LYNN ELECTORATE.
We note in your issue of Tuesday that Mr, Doidge says he had been complimented by being invited to stand for Grey Lynn electorate .by'the returned soldiers. Now tlie annual meeting of the Point Chevalier Returned Soldiers' Association Social Club a few days ago unanimously re-elected Mr. Lee patron. Last week Mr. Lee was the guest of honour at the Avondale R.S.A. annual dinner, and a few weeks ago Mr. Lee was guest of honour at the calliape R.S.A. annual dinner. The Dominion executive of the R.S.A. has been co-operating with Mr. Lee to place better pension legislation on the Statute Book, and the national - and local executives have congratulated Mr. Lee on his efforts. Mr.-Lee's voice has keen raised as frequently in defence of the soldier as any in Parliament. Mr. Lee was invited by the R.S.A., Christchurch, to deliver the annual address on Anzae Day a few years ago (a high compliment), and the last annual report of the R.S.A., Otago, asked all soldiers and associations to get behind Mr. Lee's Pensions Bill. So evidently Mr. Lee has still a few returned soldier friends left. (Councillor) NORMAN DOUGLAS; President, Grey Lynn Labour Party.
