Mr. IT. E. Barrowclough returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Sir Alexander Herdman arrived from the South by the express this morning. Sir James Gunson returned from Palmerston North by the express this, morning.' Mr. I. L. Boagey, of Mount Albert, has been appointed to the staff of the Gisborne District High School. Mr. Stanley S. Scott, managingdirector of Berlei (N.Z.), Ltd., left by the Limited last night on a business visit to Dunedin. Sir Stephen Allen and Mr. L. Alderton, of the Transport Co-ordination Board, left for Palmerston North by the Limited last night. Sir James Mills, formerly chairman of directors of the Union Steam Ship Company, is to leave for England by the Rangitiki on July 31. Mr. Lester F. Moller, Otago Rhodes scholar, accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Moller, will sail for England by the Rotorua from Auckland next Saturday. The Rev. H. K. Arrfidall, retiring headmaster of King's College, who leaves for England on Friday next, has consented to preach at the evening service in Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, to-morrow. Principal J. Dickie, moderator of the Presbyterian Church, will make a tour of the North Island next month, in the course of which he will officiate at the opening of the extension of the Hamilton Church buildings. Sir Clutha Mackenzie, director of the New Zealand Institute for the Blind, accompanied by Lady Mackenzie, left by the Limited last night on a visit to Wanganui on institute business. From Wanganui he will go to Wellington. Mr. J. Marsden Caughey, who landed at Wellington from the Rangitiki on Friday, after a visit to England, arrived by the Limited this morning, accompanied by Mr. T. H. C. Caughey, who went to Wellington to meet him. Mr. John S. Fletcher, eldest son of Mr. James Fletener, managing director of the Fletcher Construction Company, has resigned from the firm of Gilfillan and Gentles to take an appointment with the Fletcher Construction Company in Wellington. Lieutenant A. G. W. Heber-Percy, Grenadier Guards, has been granted the local rank of captain whilst holding the appointment of aide-de-camp to his Excellency the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in New Zealand. Flight-Lieu tenant M. W. .Buckley, M.8.E., relinquished the appointment of flying instructor, Wigram aerodrome, Sockburn, and has been appointed officer commanding No. 1 Bomber Reconnaissance Flight, Royal New Zealand Air Force Base, Hobsonville, Auckland, dated June 18, 1935. Dr. A. McGregor Grant, vice-president, and Mr. W. S. Spence, secretary'of the Auckland Racing Club, will leave for Wellington to-morrow evening to attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference. The Hon. Eliot R. Davis, who is also a delegate, will leave later in the week.
