OPERATIONS AT WAIHI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, Thursday. The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Martha Golding Mining Company (Waihil, Limited: No. 2 Level. —Edward lode: Commencing from the 200 ft south mark we have commenced driving north, and the first 2Gft is ore of good gravle nbout 3ft wide. No. 7 Level.—North branch of the Martha lode: Driving west the next 41ft is ore of good grade, varying from 6in to 24in wide. No. 10 Level.—Ulster lode: A winze is being sunk at 20Uft west of the Ulster south-east crosscut, and the assay value to 58ft is 27/ a ton. The south wall only is seen. „ No. 12 Level. —Edward lode: Driving south the next 03ft assays 0/6 a ton. Ulster lode: Driving west the next 17ft assays 14/0 a ton. YIELDS OF COMPANIES. Stafford Dredging (West Coast.) — Six days to June 22, 4Coz for 123 hours and 11,744yd5. Charleston Sluicing (West Coast). — Owing to the work of laying pipes, there was no wash-up for the fortnight ended June 20. Golden Dawn (Owharoa}. —For the 12 working days endetl June 24 a total of 817 tons of ore was treated for a return of £1(514: realisation estimated at S7 2/ per gold ounce. Addison's Flat (West CoastV —fortnight ended Juno 20. lOoz. for 34 shifts. Wninuimii (Gore). —21oz Bdwt lor three weeks' sluicing. GOLDEN CROWN COMPANY. A most confident tone in the prospectus of the Golden Crown Gold Mining Company was expressed at the annual meeting of shareholders yesterday by the chairman. Mr. E. S. Tremaine. He informed shareholders that n new development had taken place on No. 4 level during the past few days. This was in the footwall of t!\e drive at a point 382 ft south of the main shaft. He said rich ore was showing for a width of 2ft, the assay value being. £30 12/ per ton. This was a most important development, as there was 300 ft of backs overhead, and it was 400 ft down to the low level. There was a large block of virgin country 900 ft long by 700 ft not prospect between the Te Aomarama and Komata reef workings. Rails had only to be laid for 400 ft and the ore would he tipped down the main pass to the low level. Directors' remuneration was fixed, hut payment deferred until the company was on a dividend paying basis. The retiring directors, Messrs. A. A. Adams and T. H. Sussex, were re-elected, while Messrs. Gilfillan and Gentles wero re-appointed as auditors.
