CHATHAM CUP REPLAY TIE
THREE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES
Abels and Thistle will re-contest their Chatham Cup first round tie in consequence of a protest by the former club, which was upheld- by the New Zealand Council. On the previous occasion an attractive game resulted in a win for Thistle by two goals. The pace was fast and the exchanges even for most of the \vi,y, and the tussle assumed real cup tie fervour at stages. Thistle won the day, but not without being fully stretched. The replayed tie to-morrow promises to be another keen and thrilling game, and the kick-off will be at 2.30 p.m. on Blandford Park, the earlier start being occasioned by the provision of extra time in the event of a draw at the close of 90 minutes. i Three championship games will be played. Ponsonby may find a hard nut to crack in Mount Albert Grammar School Old Boys on the schoolground. The former have yet to suffer their first defeat this season, and on that account can expect the stiffest opposition from Grammar, who play a hard and vigorous game. Shore will play on Victoria .Park against MetroCollege, when a division of points would bo no surprise, while at St. Helier's Comrades and Eastern Suburbs will try conclusions. Both are likely to put up a desperate struggle for the points to better their respective positions on the competition table. Teams are as follow: — TIIISTLE.
