AUCKLAND CONTROL BOARD. TRAM FACILITIES TO PARK. RICHMOND TO MEET PONSONBY. At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Control .Hoard last evening the chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, officially reported that the issue of 1/ transfer train tickets available for Saturday afternoons from 1 to G o'clock, were available to and from Carlaw Park, and to all other sports grounds in the same way. He had consulted the Transport Board and had received an assurance that the concession applied to patrons attending all eports grounds from any part of the city during the hours mentioned. The principal fixture on Saturday will be between Richmond and I'onsonby, preceded fly the Maris't-Cits match. On No. 2 ground Newton and Devonport will meet. The Newton Rangers Club was advised that its senior team", together with' the Ponsonby senior thirteen, won Id play their fixture on Saturday week at Glen Eden, when transport would be provided by the board. The Ponsonby Club emphasised that the lighting facilities at Victoria Park were quite inadequate for training purposes and were dangerous. It was suggested that two additional floodlights on the pavilion and one immediately opposite, on the other side of the gr.ound, were necessary. The board decided to make special repreweutations to the City Council on the subject. Mr. E. B. Bennett was thanked for his donation of a clip for the best-equipped Bcliool team. It was decided to ask Mr. K. E. Newport, president of the prininry school management, to act as adjudicator of the trophy. City Hovers were granted permission to travel to Whangarei on Saturday week and Dovomport. United the following week. Ppvonport—the former club having enteral a protest against short time— was asked to give a report on the stoppages in the second spell. Jn compliance with a request from the Referees' Asociation, it was resolved to strictly bar any but teams and coaches from entering under the grandstand at half-time. It was decided also' to ask the full co-operation of the clubs to restrict the number of oflicials under the stand to club rooms. The City Club protested against the Ponsonby Club being awarded the reserve grade match won by them by 5—3 on the ground that the referee awarded a try and then altered his decision and disallowed the try. It was decided to 'ask the Referees' Association for a report on the matter. It was decided that the proposal of a flag >pole, next to the score-board, be held over until next season. The chairman said it was also proposed to improve the present score-board. T. Heatoiij Green Lane, was granted re-grado to play for Green Lnne senior B, subject to clearance from Devonport. The registration of G. Sharp (Epsom) with Newton Rangers was granted subject to clearance from Richmond. Registration: E. O'Loughlin (Dominion Road) to City Rovers. Transfer: W. S. Sutton,. Ellerslie, to Ponsonby reserves. Other matters considered included" the clashing of certain club jersey colours, improvements for controlling the stand accommodation exits and the provision of a special ■ room for .the Mount Albert!
