No one can have anything but admiration for Sir Malcolm's intrepidity, but Mr. Hore-Belisha's proposition seems to me to call for some examination none tile less. Before he went to Daytona this spring Sir Malcolm Campbell had already achieved a speed of 272 miles an hour. That he has since raised to 270, and he proposes to go on till he has reached 300 an hour. When all allowance is made for the light racing strains cast on engine-construction and braking, is the bridging of the pulf between 272 miles an h"-r and 276 really to be described as a great cause ?
